Departure from Cusco:
We’ll pick you up early between 6:00 – 6:30 a.m. from your hotel in Cusco. You’ll travel in a tourist vehicle to the small Andean village of Patabamba (3,850 m / 12,631 ft), the starting point of the trek. The drive takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.
8:00 a.m. | Start of the Trek in Patabamba
From Patabamba, we begin hiking along ancient Inca trails, surrounded by stunning scenery: towering mountains, deep valleys, and traditional rural communities. We cross the Pukamarca Pass (approx. 4,200 m / 13,780 ft), the highest point of the trek, where you’ll have panoramic views of the Sacred Valley and snowcapped peaks. The trail then descends into Puma Punku Canyon, where we cross an ancient Inca bridge and pass through dramatic rock formations.
12:00 – 12:30 p.m. | Arrival at Huchuy Qosqo
Arrive at the Huchuy Qosqo archaeological site (“Little Cusco”), perched above the Sacred Valley at 3,600 m / 11,811 ft. Your guide will explain the site's historical, ceremonial, and agricultural significance. The site features Inca terraces, granaries, irrigation channels, and well-preserved stone and adobe structures. You’ll have time to explore, rest, and enjoy a scenic picnic lunch overlooking the valley.

After the visit, we begin a descent down a zigzag trail to the town of Lamay in the Sacred Valley. The descent takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on group pace.

In Lamay, our transport will be waiting to take us back to Cusco. Estimated arrival at your hotel: 6:30 p.m.
