What should I pack for the Vistadome train ride?
PeruRail has baggage restrictions for the train to Machu Picchu. We recommend packing a small daypack (no more than 5kg/11lbs) for your 24 hours in Aguas Calientes and Machu Picchu. Clothing: Layers are essential! It is cool in the morning but can get very hot and humid in the ruins. Essentials: Original passport (required for entry), high-SPF sunscreen, insect repellent (the "sandflies" at Machu Picchu are persistent!), and a rain poncho. Note: Your main luggage will be safely stored at your hotel in Cusco.
