Day 1: Quad Bike Adventure – Andean Lagoons – Moray – Maras Salt Mines – Cusco
Begin your Andean experience with a brief ATV instruction session, followed by an exciting route through the rural landscapes of the Sacred Valley. Explore Piuray Lagoon, surrounded by sacred mountains, and then Huaypo Lagoon, known for its circular beauty and ancestral fishing traditions.
Continue to Moray, the Inca agricultural laboratory with circular terraces used to experiment with crops at different altitudes. Next, visit the Maras Salt Mines, a stunning complex of more than 3,000 pre-Inca salt pools still in use today. Here, enjoy a refreshing local beer with a view of this remarkable landscape.

Day 2: Trek to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca)
Depart early toward the majestic Rainbow Mountain, located at over 5,000 meters (16,400 ft) above sea level. Upon arrival at the base (Fulawasipata), begin a 2-hour hike through high-Andean landscapes, encountering alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas in their natural habitat.
At the summit, take in the intense colors of Vinicunca, one of the most extraordinary geological formations in the world. After enjoying the views and taking photos, descend and return to Cusco with a stop for lunch along the way.

Do I need a driver's license to operate the ATVs?
No, a formal driver's license is not required! Our ATVs are automatic and very easy to handle. Before starting the tour in the community of Cruzpata, our guides provide a comprehensive safety briefing and a 10-15 minute practice session. This ensures that even first-time riders feel confident navigating the rural roads toward Moray and Maras.
Will I be able to walk among the salt ponds in Maras?
Due to local government regulations aimed at protecting the purity of the salt, visitors are no longer permitted to walk inside the actual salt ponds. However, the tour includes a visit to the spectacular viewpoints that overlook the 3,000+ evaporation wells. From here, you can get stunning panoramic photos and see the artisanal harvesting process in action before visiting the local market to buy authentic Maras Pink Salt.
How difficult is the hike to Rainbow Mountain on Day 2?
The hike to Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) is considered challenging, not because of the distance, but because of the extreme altitude. You will be walking for about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the summit. To make the experience more accessible, we provide walking poles and professional oxygen assistance if needed. If you find the walk too difficult, you usually have the option to rent a horse from the local community at the trailhead.
What is the "Inca Laboratory" of Moray?
On Day 1, your ATV route leads you to Moray, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in Peru. These massive circular depressions were used by the Incas as an agricultural research center. Each terrace level has its own micro-climate, with temperature differences of up to $15°C$ from top to bottom, allowing the Incas to experiment with crops from different regions of their empire.
What should I pack for this 2-day adventure?
Since you will be transitioning from the dusty trails of the Sacred Valley to the freezing winds of the high Andes, you should pack: Day 1 (ATV): Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dusty, closed-toe shoes, and sunglasses to protect your eyes from the wind. Day 2 (Mountain): Thermal layers, a heavy down jacket, gloves, a warm hat, and sturdy hiking boots. Essentials: High-SPF sunscreen (the sun is extremely strong at 5,000m), plenty of water, and your original passport for checkpoints.
