We begin our experience with pickup between 8:00 am and 8:40 am from Lima’s main hotel districts: San Isidro, Miraflores, and Barranco . Along the way, we’ll make a brief stop in the charming bohemian district of Barranco, where we’ll enjoy an introduction to local art and architecture before leaving the city behind.
From there, we head south along the old Pan-American Highway until we reach, after approximately an hour’s drive, the enigmatic archaeological complex of Pachacamac, one of the most important religious centers on the Peruvian coast in the pre-Inca and Inca era.
Upon arrival, we will begin the visit at the Pachacamac Site Museum, where we will learn about the historical context, the cultures that inhabited it (Lima, Wari, Ychsma and Inca) and the original pieces found in the excavations.
Then, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will tour the extensive archaeological sanctuary, walking through its most representative structures:
The Acllahuasi , or “House of the Chosen Ones”, where the women consecrated to the cult lived.
The ramp pyramids, unique in pre-Hispanic coastal architecture.
And the majestic Temple of the Sun, strategically located facing the Pacific Ocean, where the sun god was worshipped and from where it is believed that the priests consulted the oracle of Pachacamac.
During the visit (approximately 1h30), we will connect with the spiritual legacy of the ancient civilizations of the Peruvian coast, in a natural setting that combines desert, valley, and sea.
At 12:00 pm, we board our vehicle back to Lima. We’re scheduled to arrive at the hotel around 1:30 pm, with our hearts filled with history and ancestral energy.
