Day 1 – Cusco – Huayopata
Follow the Aroma of Coffee Early morning departure from Cusco (approx. 7:00 AM) in private transport towards the La Convención valley. The journey crosses spectacular mountain landscapes, ascending to Abra Málaga (4,316 m) before gradually descending into the high jungle, where the warm, humid climate signals the presence of the Amazon rainforest.
Arrival in Huayopata (1,800 m) around midday and lunch featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients.

Will I get to make my own coffee and chocolate from scratch?
Yes! This is a "bean-to-cup" and "bean-to-bar" experience. You will: For Coffee: Participate in the harvesting (depending on the season), peeling, drying, artisanal roasting over an open fire, and finally grinding the beans for the freshest cup of coffee you’ve ever tasted. For Cacao: Learn how to ferment and dry the beans, roast them, and grind them into a rich cacao paste to make traditional Andean hot chocolate.
What other tropical fruits and plants will I see on the farm?
The biodiversity of the high jungle is incredible! Aside from coffee and cacao, your host will show you plantations of coca, avocados, mangoes, pineapples, bananas, and citrus fruits.
